START FUNDRAISING

(yes, it really is as easy as that)

How to start a fundraiser for charity

Step 1: Decide on your fundraiser (see ideas below). Will you dance for breast health education? Throw a party? Suck on a lemon? Get creative, we love new ideas!

Step 2: Customize your fundraising page. Include an image, tell your story of why breast health education is important to you, and share your fundraising goal. Everyone who donates to you will do so through this page, so make it count!

Step 3: Start fundraising. Email and social media are easy and great ways to fundraise and we’ll set you up with plenty of samples to get you started. Hot tip - Asking one-on-one is still the best way to hit your goal.

Step 4: Keep asking. Update your supporters on your progress. Ask people again – it’s easy to get distracted and oftentimes people need to be asked more than once before they donate.

Step 5: Thank your supporters! Thank them as soon as they donate. Whenever they share information about your fundraiser. When you’ve reached important milestones (25%, 50%, 75%, 100%). Donors want to feel included (and they should be)!

Step 6: Share photos of your fundraiser and event on social media and be sure to tag us @knowyourlemons on all social platforms. This is also a good opportunity to share educational content from our pages.
