Young Breast Cancer Symposium @ the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services

This Saturday, February 24 2024, Know Your Lemons founder and CEO Dr. Corrine Ellsworth-Beamont MFA PhD will join the Michigan DHHS Program for Breast Cancer in Young Adults 2nd Annual Young Breast Cancer Symposium. The event will address the unique challenges that young adult breast cancer survivors and metastatic thrivers face.

This symposium is open to ALL, offering learning opportunities tailored towards survivors, thrivers, community health workers, health care professionals, and anyone interested in learning more about breast cancer. Join to learn from experts in the field and young adults who experienced cancer under the age of 45.

This virtual event will feature personal experiences of survivors and thrivers. The keynote session will be on mental health. Symposium breakout sessions will cover various topics, including young breast cancer risk, talking to family members about genetic risk, navigating insurance and legal challenges, parenting with cancer, clinical trials, and more.

For physicians (CME), nurses, social workers, and community health workers, continuing education credits have been applied for. Approval is currently pending. Certificates of attendance will also be available for all attendees upon request.
