Introducing New Ambassador Coordinator: Sabrina Skiles

We’re delighted to welcome aboard Sabrina Skiles as our new Ambassador Lemonista Coordinator!

As the Ambassador Lemonista Coordinator, Sabrina will foster existing Know Your Lemons Ambassador relationships, develop activities to help Ambassadors introduce Know Your Lemons to more communities, both online and in person, and recruit & onboard new Ambassadors.

We look forward to her growing this program with her expertise as a breast cancer advocate and survivor, writer, and social influencer.

A History of Advocacy

Sabrina is a breast cancer advocate, lifestyle creator, and founder of SabrinaSkiles which provides empathy, knowledge, and empowerment to those living with chronic conditions. She’s been a freelance writer for more than a decade, specializing in content that focuses on living with chronic diseases. Her work offers practical tips, ranging from advocating for yourself and skincare routines to dressing with confidence despite health challenges. Sabrina fosters reslience and self-expression in others while empowering others with insights on navigating the complexities of chronic disease.

Breast Cancer She Never Saw Coming

A few days before her 35th birthday, Sabrina was balancing the demands of a full-time workload and motherhood to two young sons when she felt a lump, purely on accident – she’d recently got a tattoo on her lower rib and was touching to see how it was healing. After a devastating breast cancer diagnosis despite having no previous family history, she made it her mission to educate herself on breast health and bring her knowledge to the community she was already building around health advocacy.

Motivated by her own journey and wanting to empower women to become advocates for their own breast health, Sabrina chronicled her breast cancer experience with HealthCentral’s video series titled Tales From the Chemo Chair, relaying with warmth and authenticity her experiences of going through chemo as a young mother. Also, drawing on her previous writing experience, Sabrina wrote and published her first book titled Read That Again: Surviving Breast Cancer with Courage, Candor, and Community, a modern survival guide to navigating breast cancer, filled with personal anecdotes and practical advice for young women and their support network.

Sliding into Your DMs

“Hey, we see you share a lot about breast cancer and breast health, do you know about Know Your Lemons Foundation?” – That was our simple DM to Sabrina in 2020, which lead her to apply for the Global Breast Health Educator Course, and she’s been an active member since.

Sabrina loves the fresh approach Know Your Lemons has to sharing breast health information, particularly the 12 signs and symptoms of breast cancer, and founder & CEO Corrine Ellsworth-Beaumont’s passion for expanding the foundation’s global reach ignites her own dedication to promoting breast health awareness and early detection; Sabrina is eager to contribute to KYL’s mission of making a difference on a global scale.

Outside of her advocacy work, Sabrina and her family love traveling, hiking in the mountains, and cooking new recipes together. Her Instagram is a vibrant playground, where she sprinkles in #momlife adventures, fashion tips on a budget, and breast health advice, adding a splash of fun to every scroll! She is a self-proclaimed coffee snob, yoga lover, Ted Lasso super fan and knows every single word to every single Friends episode.

Welcome Sabrina, we are happy to have you help us in our mission to educate the world on early detection of breast cancer.
